The Journey

My astrophotography journey began in 2022, when I combined my lifelong passion for technology with a fascination for the night sky. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a deep passion for capturing and processing images of deep-sky objects. As I learned more about the craft, I discovered that one of the most rewarding aspects of astrophotography was helping others learn alongside me.

Today, Deep Space Astro is focused primarily on teaching astrophotographers how to get the most from Siril. Through detailed tutorials, workflow guides, software updates, and practical demonstrations, I strive to make image processing approachable for beginners while also providing advanced techniques for experienced users. My goal is to help astrophotographers build confidence in their processing skills and develop efficient, repeatable workflows that produce high-quality results.

Professionally, I am a Senior Microsoft Solutions Architect for a consulting firm in Northeast Ohio. I've worked in IT consulting since 2011 and have more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry. Throughout my career, I've designed and implemented complex technology solutions while helping clients understand and adopt new technologies. That same technical and educational approach carries over into how I teach Siril and create content for the astrophotography community.

In addition to Siril-focused education, I regularly share my own astrophotography images and discuss the techniques, equipment, and workflows I use to create them. Whether it's planning an imaging session, capturing data, or processing images, I aim to provide practical, real-world guidance based on my own experiences and lessons learned.

You'll also find honest reviews and discussions covering telescopes, cameras, mounts, observatory equipment, software, and accessories. Rather than simply reviewing specifications, I focus on how equipment performs in real-world astrophotography workflows and whether it delivers meaningful value to fellow astrophotographers.

Whether you're just getting started or looking to take your skills to the next level, I hope you'll find helpful resources, practical advice, and inspiration here.
